About this house rental
After taking possession in 2024, the house was renovated with the aim of preserving its old-fashioned, rural character. The log walls and original windows have been preserved, and the interior design follows the same style. Materials and details were chosen to maintain the house’s distinctive character from when it was built.
Cows and sheep graze in the fields surrounding the house, and tractors drive by. Behind the house rise mountain peaks that you can hike directly to, and there’s a beach about a five- to seven-minute walk away. Fishing from the rocky shores is possible, and your hosts can take you on a boat trip by arrangement.
Behind the house lies a mountain peak at 740 meters above sea level, offering a lovely hike with great views. There are hiking trails of all difficulty levels in the area. In winter, it’s about a 20-minute drive to Olalia, which has cross-country ski trails. The nearest town is Ølen, where you’ll find, among other things, Ølen Møbel with its unique selection.
