About this villa rental

Summary:

Set at the foot of Pelion, this retreat gives you a peaceful base close to Volos, the Pagasetic Gulf and the mountain villages above the city. Spacious balconies open towards the surrounding mountain landscape, while generous living areas and a fireplace create an inviting setting in every season. Everyday essentials are all within easy reach while free wifi and private parking are provided.

The Space:

Mountain Breeze Sanctuary unfolds across two guest levels connected by an internal staircase, giving families and groups generous spaces to spend time together as well as plenty of room to settle into their own routines.

On the first level, the main living spaces flow naturally between the sitting area, fireplace, lounge and dining area. Warm timber details and large windows give the interiors a traditional character, while the front veranda looks towards the courtyard, surrounding greenery and mountain landscape.

The fully equipped kitchen connects easily with the dining and living areas, making shared meals part of the experience rather than something separate from it. You have everything you might need during your stay, whether you are preparing breakfast before heading into Pelion or sitting down together for dinner after a day by the sea.

Upstairs, three bedrooms provide the main sleeping arrangements. One has a queen-size bed and a private en suite bathroom, another is arranged with a double bed, and the third has two single beds. On the same floor, there is also a study room furnished with a sofa that converts into a double bed. This space does not have a conventional door and is instead separated from the rest of the floor by heavy curtains, offering a degree of privacy while remaining more open than a standard bedroom. The house accommodates up to eight guests in total.

There are three bathrooms in total. On the upper floor, the private en suite and the main shared bathroom include bathtubs, while an additional WC serves the ground-floor level.

Balconies and outdoor areas are an important part of the house, with views extending across the greenery of Alli Meria towards the surrounding hills, Pelion and the wider landscape. The setting works particularly well when you want the countryside close at hand while keeping Volos, the coast and mountain villages within easy reach.

An ideal destination for year-round vacations, Mountain Breeze Sanctuary is well suited to families, groups of friends and couples.

Guest Access:

You have exclusive use of the entire maisonette, both ground floor and upper floor.

The Neighborhood:

Alli Meria sits where the urban edge of Volos begins to rise into the green foothills of Pelion. It is a traditional settlement surrounded by vegetation, with views towards the Pagasetic Gulf and easy access both to Volos and the mountain villages. Around the neighbourhood you can reach traditional tavernas, a bakery, everyday shops, a pharmacy, a playground and sports facilities, while central Volos is roughly 5 km away.

For swimming, Anavros Beach is around 4 km away, a convenient city beach for combining time by the water with a visit to Volos. The Alli Meria to Anavros walking route itself runs for about 4.1 km through paths and lanes towards the coast. Continuing east along the Pagasetic Gulf brings you towards Agria and its coastal swimming spots at roughly 5 to 7 km, followed by the shores around Soutrali at approximately 7 km. Platanidia, around 10 km away, gives you another relaxed option along the gulf for swimming and time beside the water.

Pelion begins practically at your doorstep. A marked 3.6 km walking route connects Portaria with Alli Meria, passing orchards, traditional paths and historic buildings, making the surrounding landscape particularly rewarding for guests who enjoy exploring on foot. Portaria itself is approximately 7 km away, while Makrinitsa and its traditional architecture, mountain setting and wide views across Volos and the Pagasetic Gulf are around 9 km away.

Closer to the house, the archaeological landscape around Goritsa is approximately 4 km away, while the Athanasakeion Archaeological Museum of Volos, roughly 4 km away, introduces you to finds from Thessaly, including material from the Neolithic settlements of Dimini and Sesklo. In Makrinitsa, around 9 km away, the Museum of Folk Art and History of Pelion occupies the historic Topali Mansion and preserves objects connected with everyday life in Pelion during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

Days here can move easily between walking Pelion paths, swimming in the Pagasetic Gulf, exploring mountain villages and returning to Volos for its waterfront and local cuisine. Around Alli Meria itself, tree shaded tavernas and the traditional village setting keep the experience closely connected to the character of the region.

Getting Around:

Nea Anchialos Volos Airport is approximately 30 km from the property, providing the closest airport access to the area. Volos Port is around 5 km away and is the main maritime gateway for connections towards the Sporades. The city's intercity KTEL station is close to the port and serves regional and longer distance routes.

Other Things to Note:

Please note that the owners live independently in the semi basement level, which is separate from your accommodation, so the guest areas remain distinct throughout your stay.
