Essentia is a boutique building of 88 apartments on the Nerang River, opposite the Isle of Capri, about ten minutes' walk from Surfers Paradise beach. This is the calm side of Surfers: the location without the noise of the strip, and parking, which most of the strip does not offer.
The Space
Open-plan living and dining, bright, with a private balcony off the living room. To be straight with you: the balcony looks over the street and the trees, not the water. The river view is from the building's own boardwalk and pool deck downstairs, which is open to residents and guests and is genuinely on the water. We would rather you know that now than discover it on arrival.
The kitchen is full-sized: electric cooktop, oven, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave, Nespresso machine, kettle and toaster. Two bathrooms. Washer and free in-unit dryer. Ducted air conditioning, blackout blinds. Private entrance, self check-in by key safe.

The Neighbourhood
Across the water. You are opposite the Isle of Capri, where locals eat: Edgewater Dining and Isla Cantina on Via Roma for canal-side tables, Valyn Thai for Thai. Fu Manchu on Chevron Island is a few minutes further.
Eating and drinking. Surfers Pavilion on Ferny Avenue does oysters and marina views, Citrique at 158 Ferny Avenue does seafood. At the beachfront, Sandbar at 52 Esplanade handles breakfast and Seascape Bar & Restaurant runs three levels of seafood. Cavill Avenue has Grill’d and White Rhino Bar & Eats at Circle on Cavill. Palette at HOTA holds three chef hats, ten minutes by car.
River, beach and things to do. The Nerang River is at the end of the street, and the boardwalk is the nicest part of the building. Budds Beach is a short walk, Surfers Paradise Beach about ten minutes on foot. The Surfers Paradise Beachfront Markets run along the Esplanade several evenings a week. The observation deck at the top of the Q1 tower is a walk away. Sea World is ten minutes by car at Main Beach; Warner Bros. Movie World, Wet’n’Wild and Dreamworld are 25 to 30 minutes north.
Getting around. The G:link tram is a short walk, putting Broadbeach, Pacific Fair and the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre about ten minutes south, and Main Beach, Southport and Helensvale to the north. Gold Coast Airport at Coolangatta is roughly half an hour by car, Brisbane Airport an hour and a quarter.
Practical. Everyday shops and a Coles supermarket are nearby rather than tourist-priced. Pindara Private Hospital at Benowa has a 24-hour emergency centre, and Gold Coast University Hospital at Southport has its own tram station. Griffith University Gold Coast, People First Stadium at Carrara and Cbus Super Stadium at Robina are all an easy drive.
Who It Suits
A family of four, two couples, or anyone on a longer stay who wants a quiet base with parking and a full kitchen rather than a room on the strip. It suits people out during the day who want somewhere calm to come back to, and anyone working from the coast for a month. If a water view from your own balcony is the point of the trip, this is not the apartment.

If you are not satisfied with the cleanliness of the apartment upon arrival, please contact us within 6 hours of check-in. We will arrange for our cleaners to return as soon as possible. If a solution is offered but declined, refunds cannot be provided.
