About this cottage rental
If it's quintessential Cotswolds you are looking for, then look no further than The Old Forge. This charming three-bedroom, dog-friendly chocolate-box cottage will delight at every turn, and sits on a generous plot providing spacious, tasteful and luxurious living accommodation. Perfect throughout the seasons, with roaring fires; an oak framed garden room; an Aga to warm the winters; and an utterly delightful cottage garden to enjoy the glorious summers. Immerse yourself in the elegant sitting room in front of the wood burning stove; enjoy a good read in the oak-framed garden room; catch up on some correspondence in the study; or let your creative chef juices flow in the fabulous kitchen where you can choose from a slower pace of cooking on the Aga (switched off in summer), or the more conventional double ovens complete with proving drawer. Entertaining is made all the more joyful with two large built-in fridges and a separate freezer, along with a wonderful larder cupboard with useful culinary gadgets and equipment, and an instant Quooker hot water tap.
Upstairs a king-size bed nestles within the eaves of the principal bedroom which features a charming window seat, oak panelling, and floor to ceiling wardrobes. Bedroom two is accessed via the beautiful bathroom with exposed beams and a large marble surrounded bath and vanity unit. Last but not least, bedroom three enjoys a mahogany single sleigh bed and, neatly tucked away behind screens, a walk-in shower and a separate loo.
Outside, explore the beautiful mature and well stocked garden's rambling roses; herbaceous borders; shading cedar tree; manicured hedging and topiary; and a calming water feature, all enclosed within a Cotswold drystone wall, and to be enjoyed from the garden furniture provided or the lazy hanging swing-chair.
Sitting on the Cotswold Way, below the wooded Cotswold Edge, the picturesque village of Stanton is brimming with some of the prettiest Cotswold cottages (including The Old Forge) along with a medieval Parish Church, and a much loved village pub The Mount Inn, with stunning far reaching views, The Mount is incredibly popular with locals and visitors alike. Just a couple of miles up the road is beautiful Broadway, often referred to as ' The Jewel of the Cotswolds' and bursting with bespoke boutiques, antiques, fine art, tea shops, pubs and restaurants. Chipping Campden, Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold are all nearby, along with Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon.
