Wake up with coffee on the deck, spend the day hiking Shenandoah National Park or exploring nearby wineries, then gather around the fire pit beneath a sky full of stars.
Just 15 minutes from the Swift Run Gap entrance to SNP, our cabin is the perfect basecamp for hiking, winery weekends, trout fishing, family adventures, or simply slowing down for a few days.
Whether you're here to chase waterfalls, drive Skyline Drive, or curl up with a good book, we hope you'll feel at home.
This cabin has become our family’s happy place—a quiet retreat where we come to unplug, hike, and enjoy simple time together. We’re glad to share it with guests who appreciate the calm beauty of the mountains.
The cabin comfortably sleeps 4 guests, with space for up to 5 using the sleeper sofa.
• Bedroom 1: Queen bed
• Bedroom 2: Full bed (best for one adult or two children)
• Living room: Queen sleeper sofa
Both bedrooms are upstairs. The full bathroom (with tub and shower) is downstairs.
Families are welcome. The second bedroom includes a small toy nook with open-ended play items, and we provide a Pack ’n Play, backpack hiking carrier, and sound machine for younger guests.
Outside, enjoy a private-feeling wooded setting with a deck, grill, and fire pit—perfect for quiet mornings and relaxed evenings. There is a small creek at the back of the property that can be accessed through the woods. Please note we don't provide firewood, but it's easy to pick up in Stanardsville on your way to the cabin.
Not every adventure needs to happen outdoors. Some of our favorite cabin moments happen inside — rainy afternoons with coffee, a fire, classic CDs from the 90s/00s playing in the background, and a board game spread across the table. We hope you’ll make a few slow-down memories of your own.
Large windows bring the forest inside, making every season -- from lush summer greens to colorful fall foliage -- a beautiful time to visit.
While the cabin feels tucked away, it is not completely isolated. A few neighboring homes are nearby. To help maintain the peaceful atmosphere, we ask guests to keep outdoor noise to a minimum, especially in the evenings. This is a place to unwind and enjoy the quiet—no parties or gatherings.
The final ½ mile is a gravel/dirt mountain road that winds uphill through the woods and is not state-maintained. You will need 4WD or AWD to safely access the cabin.
