About this apartment rental

Summary:

Four bedrooms at Mermaid Beach, two of them dedicated bunk rooms, high enough to see over the rooftops to the water, with the sand a short walk from the door. It sleeps ten in real beds: a king, a queen, and three bunks across two rooms, so nobody is on a sofa. Living, dining and kitchen run as one room with the ocean at the end of it. The building keeps a pool deck, a gym and a sauna. One of our team meets you at the door.

The Space:

Ten people, four rooms with beds, one address at Mermaid Beach.

Most apartments that sleep ten put four of them on fold-out furniture. This one does not. Every bed here is a real bed, and the two ends of the residence work independently, so the adults and the children are not living on top of one another.

SLEEPING

Four rooms with beds, ten people, nobody on a sofa. A king in the main and a queen in the second, so two couples each have a proper room. The other two rooms are the bunk rooms, with three bunks between them and six places to sleep. One bunk has a wider bed below reached by steps rather than a ladder, which suits a younger child better than a standard ladder.

Every bedroom opens off the main hallway and every door closes, so the residence does not have to run on a single bedtime.

THE MAIN ROOM

Living and dining run as one, with the ocean framed at the end of it past the tower line. Sheer curtains soften the afternoon. The sofa is deep and there is an ottoman to stretch out on.

THE KITCHEN

An island with seating, set between the dining table and the hallway, opening through to the balcony. Full-size fridge, gas cooktop, oven, dishwasher. It sits in the middle of the residence rather than off to one side, so whoever is cooking is still in the room.

THE BALCONY

Off the kitchen, with a table for four. Coffee out there before anyone has decided what the day looks like, and dinner at the same table once the sun has gone off it.

THE BEDROOMS

The main bedroom takes a king, with the walk-in robe running through to the ensuite. The second takes a queen, with built-in shelving and a district outlook. The hallway runs the length of the residence with the bedrooms off it.

THE BATHROOMS

The main bathroom has twin basins, a freestanding bath and a walk-in shower. The second has a walk-in shower and a stone-topped vanity. There is a powder room as well, which is the half in 2.5.

THE BUILDING

Shared with residents and run by the body corporate: a pool deck with shaded cabanas along one side, a gym with a rower, a bike and a cross trainer, and a cedar-lined sauna. There is no rooftop.

Guest Access:

The whole residence is yours: all four bedrooms, both bathrooms and the powder room, the kitchen, the living and dining, the balcony and the separate laundry. Nothing is locked off.

The building pool deck, gym and sauna are open to guests and shared with residents. They are run by the body corporate, so their hours are set by the building rather than by us.

Parking is on site and there is lift access from the car park, which matters when ten people arrive with luggage.

Arrival instructions, the parking bay and access details come to you in writing before you travel.

The Neighborhood:

Mermaid Beach sits between Nobby Beach and Broadbeach, which means the sand in front of you is quieter than the tower strip while dinner is still a short walk or a few minutes up the road.

The sand at Mermaid Beach is a short walk from the door. Nobby Beach village is south, and is where to go for coffee in the morning and a table in the evening. Broadbeach is north for the bigger end of it, with Pacific Fair and The Star close by.

It is a residential pocket rather than a holiday strip, which is the point of it. You are a short walk back from the beach in a neighbourhood where people actually live.

Getting Around:

Parking is on site, so a car is easy to keep here. The Gold Coast Highway runs past the building with buses in both directions, and the nearest light rail is at Broadbeach. Gold Coast Airport is about twenty-five minutes by car. Ride-share and taxis are readily available across the area.

Other Things to Note:

A few things worth knowing before you book, so nothing is a surprise when you arrive.

Ten guests is the true capacity and they are all in real beds. There is no sofa bed and nobody sleeps in the living room.

Six of the ten places to sleep are bunks, across two rooms. That is what makes ten people fit comfortably here, and it suits a family, or two families travelling together, better than ten adults. One bunk has a wider bed below reached by steps rather than a ladder.

The pool deck, gym and sauna belong to the building and are shared with residents. They are run by the body corporate, so their opening hours are set by the building rather than by us. There is no rooftop.

This is a residential building rather than a resort, and sound carries between balconies at night, so we ask guests to keep the balcony quiet late in the evening. In return the building is genuinely quiet, which is a large part of why families book it.

Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is by 10am. Later check-out is often possible. Ask us and we will confirm it against the next arrival.

The residence is fitted with Minut noise monitoring, which measures sound level only and does not record conversations. There are no cameras inside the home.

Interaction with Guests:

Most holiday homes are managed from another city, through an app, with a code and a hope. This one is not.

Aryve is a Gold Coast team and this residence is managed directly, not passed to an agency or a call centre. You will know exactly how you are getting in before you travel. Where it suits, one of us meets you at the door and hands you the keys; where a self check-in works better for your arrival time, the code and a walkthrough come to you in advance. Either way, where to park, which entrance and which door are already in writing.

The home is turned over to a hotel standard between every stay. If something is not right, you message one number, and the person who answers is the person who can fix it.

Available when you need us. Absent when you do not. That balance is the job.
