About this cottage rental
This 6-bedroom, 3-bath setup (including the main cottage with 4-bedrooms, 2-baths, and finished garage/guest house with 2-bedrooms, 1-bath, kitchenette and living space) comfortably hosts large families, multi-family getaways, and group retreats without anyone feeling stacked on top of each other. The morning routine actually works — even with a full house. With a mix of king, queen, full, and twin beds (located in 2 bunk rooms), you’ll find plenty of space to relax. Comfort meets charm. Hickory flooring throughout; granite in the kitchen and all bathrooms; 75’ dock with plenty of space to tie up your boat(s); a nicely-sized yard for yard games (corn hole, bocce, etc.) and bonfires.
Whether gathering in the spacious living areas or unwinding with a game of ping pong after a day of adventure, this beautiful cottage welcomes you with open arms. A marvelous spot to create lasting memories, we hope you enjoy your stay.
Douglas Lake is one of northern Michigan's quiet gems: clear water, sandy shallows perfect for kids, and some of the best smallmouth bass and pike fishing in the region. Swim, paddle, fish, or cruise right from the property — no trailering, no boat launch lines, no wasted vacation hours. Evenings here are what Up North was made for: bonfires under a sky full of stars, sunsets over the water, and the kind of quiet you can't find downstate.
When you're ready to explore, you're a short drive from Cheboygan, Indian River, Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island ferries, and Petoskey's shops and restaurants all within an easy 20-25 minute drive. Come winter through fall, the area delivers — color tours, trails, golf, and everything the Tip of the Mitt has to offer.
