Great location on a lovely period street, right between Edinburgh’s New Town and Stockbridge, with the Old Town also an easy 10-15 walk away. Stockbridge is especially good for bars, restaurants and riverside walks. The flat (originally an old shop) is ideal for two, nicely furnished and reasonably priced for a whole apartment in this area. Overall, a very good base for exploring Edinburgh.
It does feel a little unloved in places — some paintwork is tatty, there were no coffee pods or toiletries, and the missing blind on the main window makes for some slightly spooky shadows at night! One thing to be aware of: the circular staircase down to the lower-floor bedroom is very steep and quite vertiginous, so it may not suit everyone.
