Corner 1BR with a private lanai at the Pacific Monarch, a 5-minute walk to Waikiki Beach and 2 blocks from International Market Place.
THE ROOFTOP
The star of the building is the rooftop recreation deck with 360° views over Waikiki: a pool with tanning deck, hot tub, sauna with showers, BBQ area with cornhole, and a spacious lounge with couches, a pool table and a large flat screen TV. Sunsets are unforgettable, and every Friday you can watch the Waikiki fireworks show (7:45 PM) right from the roof.
THE UNIT (443 sq ft + 100 sq ft private lanai)
Bedroom: king bed with memory foam mattress and split AC.
Living area: sectional with a pull-out sofa bed, plus a convertible chair that unfolds into a single sleeper (sleeps 4 total, see photos). 65" HD Smart TV with Netflix and free wifi.
Kitchen: island seating, full-size fridge, induction cooktop, microwave, rice cooker, toaster, coffee maker and all cookware.
Bathroom: walk-in shower, LED vanity mirror, hair dryer and toiletries.
Lanai: private outdoor seating.
Air conditioning: 2 AC units.
Also provided: beach towels, iron and vacuum.
ARRIVAL AND PARKING
Key card pickup is at the 24/7 front desk, no lockboxes. Self-parking in the garage is about $45/day (6 ft height clearance, so larger trucks and SUVs won't fit), though everything in Waikiki is walkable. Coin laundry is on the 3rd floor. From Honolulu Airport it's a 20 to 25 minute ride, about $35 to $40.
GOOD TO KNOW
This is a privately owned condo, not a hotel, so there's no daily housekeeping. The unit is professionally cleaned and fully stocked before every stay, with optional paid mid-stay cleaning available. Quarterly pest control. As with any tropical building, an occasional gecko or insect can happen.
