Located in Ahwatukee Foothills (south Phoenix, zip 85048) at the north edge of South Mountain Park. The area is residential and suburban—mostly single‑family homes and planned subdivisions—with local grocery, restaurants and small shopping centers along nearby Ray Road, Chandler Boulevard and 40th Street. Outdoor recreation (hiking, mountain biking) is a major draw because South Mountain’s trail network and scenic viewpoints are within minutes. The vibe is quiet, family-friendly, and oriented to car travel.
Drive: The neighborhood is car-dependent; most guests drive or use rideshare. Street parking and direct driveway/garage access are typical. Major local arterials: Frye Road, 40th Street, Ray Road and the Loop 202 freeway for east/west travel. Public transit: Valley Metro regional buses run on nearby arterials but service is limited—check Valley Metro routes and schedule for specific stops. Rail: There is no Valley Metro light rail in Ahwatukee; the closest light-rail access is in Tempe/Mesa, reachable by car or connecting bus. Rideshare/taxis: Widely available and the most convenient option for guests without a car. Bike/walking: Local streets are walkable for short trips, and recreational walking/hiking access to South Mountain is excellent.
Unfortunately, our pool is not heated.
Please note that our pool cleaner normally stops by on Thursdays or Fridays and just lets himself in through the side yard gate. This is typical of pool cleaners in the area and we like to mention it so guests are not alarmed.
We have a service that takes our trash cans to the curb on Wednesdays and returns them to the side yard after pickup on Thursdays.
