Summary:
Casa Bernadita is a charming two-story house in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle steps from the beach. This traditional Mexican home features three bedrooms, a quiet private courtyard, and a fully equipped kitchen. Enjoy high-speed wifi, desks on different floors for remote work and outdoor amenities including grill, beach chairs and kayaks. Perfectly located between Puerto Vallarta and Sayulita a block from the marina & beach, it's perfect for families or friends looking to explore the Nayarit coast.
The Space:
Our house is a traditional Mexican-style home, which gives it really great character! It is spacious & comfortable and we've filled it with local art and lots of amenities like a nicely equipped kitchen with full size oven/range, work stations on separate levels for dual remote workers, and other small touches to make you feel at home.
- There is a bedroom and bathroom on the first floor if you have someone who would prefer not to use stairs.
- You'll have 2 full workstations if needed (2 monitors, keyboards, mice, docking stations, AND an extra standing desk!).
- We have a full-time property manager available to assist you with any on-site needs.
- If you're staying more than a week, our trusted cleaning lady will visit as well!
- Access to the rooftop patio with ocean views/breeze on top of the adjacent apartment building.
- Inflatable Kayaks and SUP as well as beach chairs, blankets and cooler for maximum enjoyment of the beach that is steps away.
La Cruz is a fast-growing community with tons of amazing restaurants. This growth also means that there's some construction happening nearby. We provide a music speaker system to use as needed.
If you're looking for an affordable spot just steps from the ocean–that feels more like home than a giant, cold condo building with lots of rules–then you've found the right place!
Guest Access:
You have full, private access to the home and it's inner courtyard during your stay. The keys are stored in a lockbox and you will receive a code shortly before your arrival.
Across the courtyard is a small two story apartment building with a large shared rooftop patio for you to enjoy the stunning ocean, marina, and mountain views! (this rooftop is shared with 2 apartments--also available for rent if you have a larger group!)
The Neighborhood:
Enjoy the authentic charm of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle from our perfectly located apartment. Our safe, walkable neighborhood makes it easy to explore. You are just a short stroll from the town square, local fish market, and marina. Whether you want fresh dining, lively bars, or community events like movie nights and live music, everything is within easy reach. Experience a relaxed residential atmosphere while staying minutes away from the best local attractions.
Getting Around:
Getting around is a breeze from our location in Cruz de Huanacaxtle. We are within walking distance of the beach, the local marina, and the town center, making it easy to explore on foot. If walking is a challenge, golf carts are available for rent nearby. For those arriving by air, Uber and local taxis are affordable and reliable options for airport transfers or trips to neighboring towns. If you plan to explore the wider Banderas Bay area, the bus is within a 5 minute walk, but renting a car is also great choice, and you will have full access to our secure garage parking throughout your stay.
Other Things to Note:
Check-in time is 3pm (15:00) and check out is 11:00am (but it's possible these can be flexible if needed). We welcome families with children or infants. Pets are welcome, though additional charges may apply. The use of stairs is required to use the upper level of the house. Please note that smoking is not permitted inside the property and events are not allowed. We ask that you respect our general quiet hours, from 10pm-8am. Free garage and street parking is available for your convenience. The house is located 1 block from a quiet beach and the marina. It's a 4-minute walk into the center of town. It's in a very safe residential neighborhood, but we do have to mention that streets are mostly cobblestone and have been challenging to those with strollers/wagons for very young children. A golf cart rental may be suggested if you have mobility issues or tiny children to cart with you.
