About this house rental

We are Anna and Luca. Our stone and wood house is located in a small, pedestrian-only Tuscan village, nestled among hills, trails, and castles, near the Cinque Terre. We don't simply want to rent houses, but rather offer opportunities for meaningful experiences and discoveries. For 2026, we're offering many free activities: Tuscan cuisine, bread and pizza making, foraging, a biodynamic garden, hiking, and herbal medicine. Guests can choose one activity every three nights from the available options. Reconnecting and reclaiming your time will be easy. A tiny Tuscan village surrounded by chestnut woods. Off the beaten track, yet just a half-hour drive from the Cinque Terre. The village is very small and has no shops or public facilities. A traditional bakery is located 5 km away, delivering bread three times a week, and a van with fresh fish from La Spezia stops by once a week. For other services, you'll need to travel about 10 km down the valley. Upon your arrival, we'll provide you with helpful information for a peaceful stay. From the public parking lot, follow the signs for our book-crossing station, which is just 50 meters away. Please note that the road is slightly downhill, and some stairs, due to the historic nature of the buildings, may be challenging for guests with limited mobility. An entire historic stone and wood house, recently renovated with respectful attention to detail and modern technology, comfortably accommodates four people. The house is located on the first floor and is reached by a historic 10-step stone staircase, so it may be difficult for those with walking difficulties. You'll have access to a large, fully equipped kitchen with a large refrigerator, oven, induction hob, and espresso machine (with coffee), a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, a bathroom with shower, and a spacious living room with a sofa and a wood-burning fireplace. Modern amenities and free Wi-Fi are provided. A laundry room with washing machine is also included. The house's true gem is the covered terrace, perfect for relaxing, where we've installed a herb and citrus garden, a foosball table, a dart board, and a punching bag. Guests have free use of a Bookcrossing library and secure bike storage. Some bicycles are available free of charge. Upon arrival, you'll find a basket of fruit, pasta, bread, olive oil, and coffee. For stays of at least seven nights, you'll also find a bottle of wine and a jar of honey produced by the Pungiglione Social Cooperative, which we support with part of your rent. Located within the Apennine Biosphere Reserve, far from mass tourism, Villecchia is a quiet spot accessible on foot, by bike, by bus, or by car, about 10 km from the Val Magra. A half-hour drive will take you to the Cinque Terre National Park and the Tuscan-Emilian Apennine National Park, both popular destinations. But if you wish, we'll suggest how and where to visit them in complete solitude. Around the house are streams, trails, the historic Via Marchesana, and cycle paths. If you're lucky, you might spot porcupines, wild boars, foxes, badgers, and hawks, as well as wolves, which live permanently in our valley and we can easily find signs of their presence. And then we're in Lunigiana: hundreds of small villages and castles, waiting to be explored at a leisurely pace. Upon confirmation of your booking, you'll receive a leaflet detailing the house, its rules, the surrounding area, and the activities you can choose to do. Upon your arrival, we'll welcome you and provide you with all the information you need for a pleasant and peaceful stay. If necessary, we'll be on site, and you can contact us at any time by email or phone.
