About this cabin rental

Summary:

A gambrel-style mountain retreat tucked into Summit Estates — Big Bear's most coveted ski-adjacent neighborhood. Bearwoods Barn Cabin blends rustic barn architecture with warm, modern comfort across 1,649 sqft of living space. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a soaring tongue-and-groove ceiling, a crackling fireplace, and a private deck with a hot tub set the stage for effortless mountain getaways. You're steps from Snow Summit's slopes and trail system, minutes from the lake and The Village, and surrounded by National Forest hiking and biking trails. Whether you're here to ski, ride, hike, or simply soak under the pines, this is Big Bear done right.

The Space:

Step inside to a dramatic open living area anchored by a vaulted tongue-and-groove ceiling — the kind of architectural detail that instantly says "mountain cabin." The original wood-burning fireplace serves as the heart of the room, framed by warm hardwood floors and soft carpeting underfoot.

The gambrel roofline gives the cabin its distinctive barn-like silhouette, but inside it translates to generous headroom, an airy lofted feel, and windows that pull in natural light and territorial views across the treetops. The kitchen is fully equipped — full-size range and oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and all the essentials — so cooking in after a long day on the slopes or trails is genuinely easy.

Getting Around:

Getting around

By foot: Snow Summit is an easy 5–8 minute walk from the front door — no need to deal with ski resort parking.

By car: Most everything in Big Bear Lake is within a 5–10 minute drive. The cabin has a two-car driveway space.

Other Things to Note:

Quiet hours: 10 PM – 8 AM. This is a residential neighborhood — please respect our neighbors.

No smoking inside the cabin.

Pets: This is a pet-friendly cabin; there is a $75 pet fee for the duration of your stay (Max. 2 pets).

Winter weather: Big Bear receives roughly 120 inches of snow annually. Roads can close or require chains. We recommend 4WD/AWD for winter visits and always suggest travel insurance during heavy snow months.

No A/C: Like most Big Bear cabins, this home does not have air conditioning — but at 6,750 feet of elevation, opening the windows almost always does the trick. Ceiling fans and mountain breezes keep things comfortable even in summer.

Fire safety: The fireplace is wood-burning. Firewood is not provided — It can be acquired at local stores or bring your own. Always fully extinguish fires before leaving or sleeping.

Wildlife: You're in the mountains. You may see deer, squirrels, raccoons, and the occasional black bear (from a distance). Secure trash and don't leave food outside to prevent animals from trying to enter the house; local wildlife is resourceful.
