The neighborhood was another side of Hamburg, charming, and serene, and like an aristocratic village. The host and his family were welcoming and helpful. The apartment was decorated like a cottage and had not only games for the kids but also a guitar, keyboard, a special bathtub and 2 toilets. The kitchen was well stocked. They even had a bowl of candy on the table for my kids. The children of the host waived to us as we were looking for the apartment with big smiles, as if we were family. Also, there's a little seaport in the area and one could take a boat using their Deutschland Ticket to Hamburg harbor, according to the host. And it's next to a grand park, good for the kids or a morning jog or picknick. At night, we heard the crickets singing instead of traffic noise. My family had a delightful time at this stay.
