Picture it: graduation day is done, the car doors close in the driveway, and the whole family spills into the house still buzzing from the ceremony. The kids race straight for the pool, the dog finds a shady spot in the fenced yard, someone fires up the grill, and the air hockey rivalry starts before anyone has unpacked. That is the stay the Teal Hummingbird was made for.
This coastal-inspired home pairs deep teal walls, crisp whites and natural rattan with the space a big family actually needs. It is relaxed rather than formal, the kind of place where everyone can gather around one table for dinner and still find a quiet corner to recharge. Whether you are here to celebrate your soldier, reunite with family or simply slow down for a few days in Columbus, every room is set up to make the trip feel easy.
THE HOME
The layout flows naturally on a single level. The living room opens into the dining area and kitchen, so conversation carries from the stove to the table and no one feels left out. The four bedrooms sit just off the main living space for privacy, and a separate game room gives the kids (and the competitive adults) a place of their own. Step out back and the covered patio, pool, playset and fenced yard turn the whole property into one big gathering space.
LIVING ROOM
Walk in and the coastal mood is immediate: deep teal walls, white curtains framing the windows, a navy striped rug underfoot and sea-inspired artwork on the walls. The oversized white sectional is the centerpiece, deep enough for the whole family to pile on for a movie after a long travel day. A large smart TV hangs across the room, a rattan accent chair and console add warm natural texture, and the ceiling fan keeps the air moving on humid Georgia evenings. It is the room where everyone ends up, swapping stories from the day and planning tomorrow.
KITCHEN
The kitchen is bright and practical, with white cabinets, white subway tile and granite countertops that give you room to spread out. Stainless steel appliances include a side-by-side fridge, a range, a built-in microwave and a dishwasher, so cleanup after a big family dinner is quick. A full cookware set, knife block and spice rack are ready on the counter, and the cabinets are stocked with plates, bowls and glassware for the whole group.
Mornings start at the coffee station: brew a full pot, press a slow cup in the French press or boil the kettle for tea. A Ninja blender handles smoothies for the kids, the toaster takes care of a quick breakfast before heading to base, and the slow cooker lets you start dinner in the morning and come home to the smell of something warm and ready.
DINING AREA
A long wood table seats 8 on rattan-back chairs, with a high chair for the littlest guests. A woven pendant light hangs overhead, a scalloped mirror and soft curtains add a relaxed coastal touch, and the table sits right between the kitchen and living room, so the conversation keeps flowing while dinner comes together.
BEDROOMS
Each bedroom has its own color and personality, with memory foam mattresses, crisp white linens and fresh towels waiting for you.
Bedroom 1 is the primary retreat: a king bed with an upholstered headboard, framed hummingbird prints above, matching nightstands with lamps, a wall-mounted TV and a cozy reading chair in the corner. A large mirrored closet gives you plenty of space to unpack for a longer stay.
Bedroom 2 is wrapped in calm navy, with two double beds side by side, cushioned ottomans at the foot of each and a ceiling fan overhead. It is a natural fit for siblings, cousins or friends traveling together.
Bedroom 3 feels light and airy in soft aqua, with a natural-wood queen canopy bed as the centerpiece, floating nightstands and a sunny window, plus a single bed for one more guest.
Bedroom 4 pairs deep teal walls with a crisp white chair rail. It has a double bed and a single bed with upholstered headboards, a white dresser with a gold-framed mirror, coastal artwork and a rattan reading chair, making it flexible for a parent and child or two travelers.
BATHROOMS
Two full bathrooms, each with a tub and shower combo surrounded by clean white tile. They are stocked with starter toiletries and fresh, high-quality towels, and the tubs make bath time easy for families with little ones.
BACKYARD & PATIO
The fully fenced backyard is one of the home's best features. Kids can climb the wooden playset, race down the blue slide and swing under the trees while the adults relax on the covered patio. The patio has outdoor dining, lounge seating and a BBQ grill, so evenings can end with burgers on the grill and everyone eating together in the warm Georgia air. Pets can roam safely, and you can let the dog out in the morning without a second thought.
POOL
Your own private in-ground pool is surrounded by greenery, with a sunny deck and lounge chairs for the grown-ups. Picture cool water on a hot Columbus afternoon, the sound of kids splashing and laughing, and towels drying on the chairs as the sun drops behind the trees. For many guests it becomes the highlight of the whole trip.
GAME ROOM
The game room is a whole room built for fun, with deep teal walls, white sea-fan accents and natural light pouring in through French doors. The main event is the face-off between the air hockey and foosball tables, with a giant wall-mounted Connect 4 for quick rounds in between. Comfortable blue armchairs line the room for anyone who would rather cheer from the sidelines, and a TV keeps the scoreboard banter going. Expect late-night rematches, friendly trash talk and the kind of laughter everyone remembers long after checkout.
LAUNDRY
A full-size washer and dryer sit inside the home, so you can wash uniforms, swimsuits and travel clothes on longer stays and head home with a suitcase full of clean clothes.
