About this house rental
Our home is ideal for families or groups of friends, half-term breaks or just a few days away from it all, with or without pets. Everyone under one roof, celebrating a special occasion maybe -especially at Christmas time?
And getting great value for every Guest.
The house is just seventeen minutes from the Fishbourne car ferry or ten minutes by taxi from Ryde Hoverport. We have offstreet parking and there is always space on the street outside. The big supermarkets all deliver.
To get the cheapest Wightlink car ferry fares, book as far in advance as possible, use the online Best Fare Finder Tool, and aim for off-peak sailings (early morning, late evening, or mid-week between 10:00 and 16:00). Last-minute bookings are generally significantly more expensive.
Many groups come for the various Island events - for instance The Isle of Wight (music) Festival in June and the October Literary Festival. Some of the best walking in the south of England is available across the downs. Seaview hosts a number of important sailing events too, with a busy and vibrant yachting community, including the celebrated Mermaid fleet with their colourful spinnakers.
Spend time in the bright and sunny kitchen/dining room chatting, having a drink, maybe listening to music. Cook up a storm in the fully-equipped, spacious kitchen, with two double ovens, before sitting down at the large dining table which can sit ten.
Sunny day? Use the cushioned outdoor seating and sunloungers on the lawn. The back garden is secure - so it's safe for children and your pets. Not so sunny? The Utlity Room has washing machine, dryer and hanging area for wet clothes. There's an outside tap too for muddy or sandy people and dogs. We have darts too - but please be careful and especially mindful of children. There is a high chair in the Hall cupboard.
In the evening, why not play the piano in the Playroom or let the children play board games or use the gaming console. Or just watch your favourite streaming service on the large TV in the Drawing Room.
Need to work? WightFibre give excellent WiFi service. There is a desk in the Playroom.
Upstairs we have four large double bedrooms:the Master Bedroom is ensuite. The Blue Room has its own basin. There are two other bathrooms with plenty of hot water and one with a heated towel rail, so never any need to queue.
Of course, Seaview is famous for its varied and sandy beaches: long or short walks, with family and dogs, or just a quiet stroll in the early evening, enjoying the changing seascape. Fancy a swim off Quay Rocks? It is safe and well-overlooked. Take the children: go crabbing - use one of the shrimping nets by the shed....and maybe sneak an ice cream on the way home.
Fancy a trip down the Old Fort pub overlooking the Solent with the children? Check out the Mermaid sailing fleet with their colourful hulls and spinnakers and the quaint wooden local dinghies: in the summer you can see perhaps a hundred moored just off the Esplanade.
Maybe an adults only visit to the Halland wine bar, Lilly's coffee shop or the famous Seaview Hotel? All are just three minutes' walk away.
If you wish to explore the Island, maybe start with The Garlic Farm, twenty minutes' drive away, or go to the top of Culver Down for spectacular views across the Island towards the Needles and across to the South Downs. A meal away from Seaview? Try The RT Grill in Ryde or the excellent Smoking Lobster in Ventnor or Cowes.
If you want beautiful open spaces and fabulous seascapes, with views of the great ocean liners cruising down The Solent, moving quietly past the various forts protecting Portsmouth, this is the place.
Or if you fancy exploring the town, try nearby Bembridge with its harbour, lifeboat station and local shops or historic Cowes, a must in or out of season, nearby Osbourne House and Carisbrooke castle, and beautiful Yarmouth too.
Whatever it is you are looking for, our home in Seaview village has it.
PS Don't forget to bring your towels. We supply all the bed linen, of course.
Fees are for cleaning and laundering all bed linen and are charged at cost.
