Porthleven centres on its lively harbour, where you can choose between pubs, restaurants and independent shops, or join surfers, cold-water swimmers, paddleboarders and canoeists using the slipway. Crabbing along the harbour wall is a favourite with younger visitors. From the village the South West Coast Path offers routes to Loe Bar and the Penrose Estate’s peaceful woodland trails, while nearby Helston links you to the Lizard Peninsula’s lighthouse, historic life station and locally crafted serpentine stone.
