A twisted juniper tree wet bar, ping pong table, and covered deck with a propane fire pit are just the beginning — nestled among mature Ponderosa Pines with views of the Deschutes River, Farewell Bend Park, and Awbrey Butte, this retreat is equal parts creative hideaway and welcoming gathering place. A small dog is welcome along for the adventure.

Elmwood Place aka “The Fun House” was a good place to stay for my 2 friends and me. Beds were comfortable, and the house was clean and roomy. We enjoyed a little ping pong, and liked getting to watch the deer graze the hill behind the house. We especially enjoyed the big windows in the third story living room that let us watch weather come in and even a little April snow. Be prepared for a steep driveway and then a flight of stairs to get to the entrance, and then another flight of stairs to get to the kitchen. Also, I was disappointed that I could not really see the river from the house. “Peekaboo” views really means that if you are actively looking for it, you can catch a tiny, tiny glimpse of river through the trees in one or two places on the property. Overall, it was a good stay. :)

Driveway could be a problem if snowy and icy!
Could use additional tv in living room.
Ok layout, a little funky, but worked. Not great wslkibility.
