RIVERFRONT RELAXATION WITH MOUNTAIN VIEWS! Welcome to Rhododendron River Retreat, a peaceful escape along the beautiful Hiawassee River. This spacious home features a main-level king suite, open-concept living areas, and a private media room perfect for movie nights. Sip coffee while overlooking the river, unwind to the sounds of flowing water, and enjoy the scenic mountain backdrop. Conveniently located near Hiawassee, Helen, hiking, wineries, and adventure, this retreat is ideal for families!

Adventure awaits! Western NC and North GA abound with opportunities for recreation and relaxation. Set your sights on long-range views with visits to Bell Mountain in Hiawassee (20-minute drive) and Brasstown Bald (highest point in GA, 35-minute drive). Spend the day on Lake Chatuge with a boat or personal watercraft rental from a local marina or launch your own from nearby public access. Want to immerse yourself in nature in the Nantahala National Forest? Bring your mountain bikes and ride the first-class trails at Jackrabbit Mountain (also great for hiking and dog-friendly) less than 5 minutes from the property. Fires Creek Recreation Area (45-minute drive) is another Western NC local favorite for hiking with picturesque views, swimming, and trout fishing. On the GA side, take a 10-minute drive to a waterfall hike via the High Shoals Falls Trail or make the 25-minute drive to Alpine Helen, GA for a taste of Bavaria in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Hungry and thirsty after a day of exploration? Visit the outstanding local restaurants, wineries, and breweries in and around downtown Hayesville and Hiawassee for not-to-be-missed tastes of local flavor.
You will have access to the entire home, except the garage.
-Main Level Primary Suite: King bed with a beautifully appointed en suite bathroom.
-Expansive open-concept living area with plush seating, seamlessly flowing into a fully equipped kitchen.
-Private media lounge featuring a Murphy queen bed and an adjacent full bathroom.
-Large laundry room.
-Upper Level: Two generously sized queen bedrooms.
-Shared bathroom serving the upper level
-Formal dining room designed for memorable gatherings and entertaining!
When checking out...
* Leave used towels hanging in the bathrooms.
* Used beds should be left unmade.
* Adjust temp settings to 75 degrees.
* Put all trash in bags in can outside.
* Remove any opened food items from the fridge
* If you moved any furniture, inside or outside, put it back.
* Turn off lights, ceiling fans, TV.
* Make sure all doors are locked and key is returned where you got it.
* Make sure fireplace is off and fire at fire pit is extinguished.
* Regular drip coffee pot and a Keurig , ground coffee supplied.
* No smoking on property.
* Supply your own firewood for the firepit, You can arrange with us to have some delivered.
* We supply a propane tank and a spare for the grill
* No parties, this is a quiet family neighborhood
* Fishing in river allowed with proper licenses.
* Host Cancellation Policy: any reservations cancelled will receive an 96% refund, (4% is charged for credit card transactions and isn't refunded from our payment processing company.
