Active & Sporty: Get Active in the Region: For sports enthusiasts and outdoor fans, the area around Meißendorf and Winsen (Aller) offers first-class opportunities: Cycling & Running: Kilometers of flat, well-maintained cycling and hiking trails through the Aller-Leine Valley and the Meißendorf heathland start almost right at your doorstep. The world-famous Meißendorfer Teiche nature reserve and the Bannetzer Moor are practically right around the corner. With around 80 fishing ponds, it’s a paradise for walks and nature photography. From nearby Hüttensee, you can spot rare bird species such as cormorants, swans, and—with a little luck—even white-tailed eagles in the wild. The idyllic loop trail is ideal for this. The nearby NABU Center at Gut Sunder not only offers nature experiences but also homemade cake in its cozy café afterward.
