A note about comfort: Although the home has plenty of large windows and natural light, it stays surprisingly comfortable even without air conditioning. The home faces due north on the view side, and the south side has deep roof overhangs that minimize direct summer sun and heat gain. On warm days, simply open the windows in the evening to let in the cool air, then close them by late morning or around noon to trap that cool air inside. Using this natural cooling strategy keeps the home comfortable, even during the hottest summer days.
