Sleeping up to eight across two split levels, this cabin pairs rustic, one-of-a-kind woodwork with room to spread out — a billiards room, a wood-burning fireplace, and a private dock right out the door.

The cabin takes its name from an actual red fox spotted on the land before it was ever purchased — and the foxes still make their rounds on quiet winter days. Nearly every custom touch inside was crafted by hand: the mantle was milled from a tree felled on the family homestead in Rice, Minnesota, and that same wood lives on in the stair treads, kitchen cabinets, bar, bathroom vanities, handrails, and tongue-and-groove ceiling. Nothing here came off a shelf.

- Quiet Hours – 10 PM to 7 AM, per county permit conditions
- No Parties or Events – large gatherings not permitted
- Max Occupancy – 8 overnight guests (16 total including day guests), per Aitkin County interim use permit
- Pet-Friendly – We happily welcome up to two well-behaved pets. The fee is $100 per pet, per stay. This fee may be included in your total at booking or collected separately prior to check-in, depending on the platform you booked through.
- Pet Cleanup – Please clean up after your pets both inside and outside. Excessive mess may result in additional cleaning fees.
