The Mazama Trails Studio Cottage(a legal and licensed nightly rental in Okanogan Cty)is a small, cozy, dog-friendly cabin that sits just below Flagg Mtn., located just 1.3 miles east of the Mazama Store. It is a one-room apartment with room for one or two people. Close to the Methow Valley ski trail (in the winter) and bike trail in the summer. Simple, cozy, efficient.
It has a large covered porch to enjoy the view and listen to nearby Goat Creek, which runs around the eastern shoulder of the mountain. The MVSTA trail is adjacent to the property, offering miles of access to the beautiful landscapes of the upper valley. Easily accessible off the county road with any vehicle.
Queen bed, bathroom w/shower, small kitchen w/gas range, apartment-size refrigerator, toaster, propane-fired wood stove, smartphone docking station, small TV w/VCR tapes (no reception)

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT YEAR ROUND TRAVEL INFORMATION--READ BEFORE BOOKING A RESERVATION:
1)It is the responsibility of the guest to have travel plans in place to travel either over the North Cascades via Highway 20 OR to travel over Steven's Pass through Leavenworth OR to travel I-90 over Snoqualmie to Blewett Pass through Wenatchee and then up the Columbia river to the Methow Valley. If one route is closed, it is YOUR responsibility to make alternative travel plans. NO REFUNDS will be given at any time of the year simply because an alternate route must be taken and adds additional travel time. Highway 20 is closed in the winter and mountain passes can be closed anytime of the year because of wildfires, rockslides or other occurrences. Directions over all the routes will be sent to. you 3 days before your arrival. Make sure to check pass reports(and they can change while you are en route) and print out the directions before you leave.
2)Trail Access/Closure Information:
If you are coming to hike, bike, or ski on a trail or system of trails which happen to be closed before or during your stay, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN because of this. Trail closures can occur at any time due to fire, rockslides, mudflows... and we have no control over them. There are many hiking and biking trails of various kinds in the Methow Valley. If access to the North Cascades National Park is closed via Hwy 20 for any reason, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN because of this. There are a number of beautiful hikes in and around our valley that we would be happy to recommend.
INTERNET POLICY
**Internet speeds vary throughout the valley, and outages or tech issues beyond our control can occur; for these reasons, NO REFUNDS are given if the internet is problematic. We also do not guarantee that the internet will meet your work/school needs. Should you have an issue with internet service, please send us a message through VRBO describing the problem. We will then contact you to troubleshoot. If the issue is not resolved, we will then contact the internet provider and/or homeowner. Please note... our valley is very rural, and getting service personnel to fix things in a timely manner can be challenging. We rent lodging, not office space.
Public internet is available at the Winthrop library, with enhanced internet speed (in the parking lot or inside the library). Alternatively, for a fee, you can go to the Dropzone in downtown Winthrop. Thank you for your understanding!
IMPORTANT WINTER INFORMATION POLICY :
**Should you travel to the Methow during the winter months it is important to understand that you must be prepared for winter driving(keep chains, shovel...in the car) and all the inconveniences it causes you and the community you are visiting. The weather can be extreme, with heavy snowfall, unexpected technical issues, frozen pipes, and impassable roads/driveways. If it snows while you are here, you will have to wait for plow service just like every other person in the valley. There are a limited number of plow companies, and neither the Methow Reservation nor the owners of the house control the plow companies' schedules. They have many different contracts and many miles of roads and driveways to plow. If a plow person or a snow shoveler shows up to clear any area around the house, please do not argue with them or turn them away. Move your vehicles if asked. Your cooperation and patience are required, especially after any significant snow accumulation. Should you get stuck, you can call Classic Towing in Twisp, WA
**WEATHER CONDITIONS**
We cannot be responsible for winter weather conditions. If you will be arriving during the winter, please be sure you have proper equipment for driving in the snow, and carry tire chains for driving over the passes. Our local roads are always kept open and in good condition for winter travel. There are no refunds for road closures; however, if both the Stevens and Snoqualmie mountain passes are closed for more than 8 hours and the closures prevent you from reaching the property, you may reschedule your stay to arrive within 3 months of the pass closures. Please note that the North Cascades Pass is always closed during winter.
We recommend you check weather conditions before driving through the passes during the winter on the DOT's website
*There is a small electric and small propane barbecues under bench in Recycle ShedPropane. The propane bbq takes small Coleman cylinder. I leave a few there but they get used pretty quick.
