About this house rental

Escape to a whole-home lakefront retreat on Campbell Lake. Just 9 minutes from Anchorage airport and walking distance to groceries/restaurants, this spacious, family-friendly home offers the rare combination of peaceful waterfront living with city convenience. Enjoy watching float planes land, canoeing, birdwatching, fireside evenings, and spectacular Alaskan scenery while savoring your morning coffee or roasted marshmallows. Come experience Alaska in the comfort of this peaceful lakeside home.
Wake up to Campbell Lake shimmering beneath the Chugach mountains, right outside your window. This ~5,000 sq ft lakefront lodge is built for gathering, with soaring ceilings, exposed wood beams, and wide-open water views from nearly every room. It's an authentic Alaska retreat — not a showpiece that's never seen an Xtratuf — with Alaskan art from local artists throughout. It's also a nature-lover's dream: watch for loons and swans early in the morning, and grebes, mergansers, and bald eagles throughout the day. River otters or moose are often seen as well. You'll also get to watch the occasional float plane take off or land on the lake right out the window — a quintessentially Alaskan sight.
Take our canoe out for a quiet paddle, or if you really want some exercise, go around the entire lake — it's the largest lake in Anchorage. There are also great trails nearby for a walk or hike. You're within walking distance of the beautiful Campbell Creek Estuary, and just a 10-minute drive from Kincaid Park, which has miles and miles of hiking and biking trails.
Need supplies or a quick bite? Grocery stores, fast food, and a range of restaurants are all just a 5-10 minute walk away, and the airport is only 9 minutes down the road — so you get true wilderness immersion without sacrificing convenience.
This 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom home has plenty of room for the whole group to spread out. The main living room features expansive views and a huge stone fireplace (for guest safety, this one is for display only) — the swivel chairs by the window make for a perfect spot to enjoy your coffee in the morning and watch for birds. If you have work to do, there's a lovely desk with great views to work by. The game closet is also extensively stocked with a variety of games.
There's also a second living room with a gas fireplace guests are welcome to use, plus a TV — a cozy, wood-paneled hangout space perfect for winding down after a day outdoors.

The main dining room has fantastic views and seats the whole group together. There's a second dining room too, if you'd like to spread out more — or set up separate adult and kid tables.
The fully stocked kitchen makes it easy to cook for a crowd, with an extra fridge for overflow groceries or the fish you catch on your Alaska adventures. A large laundry room means no one's stuck packing dirty clothes home — just toss in a load between hikes.

Bedroom Layout
Bedroom 1: King bed with a twin futon chair, private full ensuite bathroom
Bedroom 2: King bed with amazing lake views, private full ensuite bathroom
Bedroom 3: King bed with a twin futon chair (downstairs)
Bedroom 4: King bed and a full bed (downstairs)
Bedrooms 3 and 4 share a full bathroom downstairs. A fourth full bathroom, located upstairs, is available for common use.
Each bedroom is outfitted with comfortable beds, quality linens, and black-out blinds — so no matter how late the midnight sun lingers, you'll sleep easy.

A dedicated playroom rounds things out, with ping-pong, knee hockey, a puppet theatre, a play kitchen, and plenty of books and toys.
Rainy day or not, there's no shortage of things to do: knee hockey, spikeball, ping-pong, and badminton keep things lively, with games and toys on hand for all ages. In the evening, gather around the outdoor firepit and roast marshmallows under the midnight sun in summer or the Northern Lights in winter.
Step outside to a beautiful garden — visit in July or August and you'll likely find ripe strawberries or raspberries to pick and add to your morning cereal. And don't miss the sunsets and sunrises: in summer, they don't happen until 11 PM, giving you long, golden evenings on the water. In winter, sleep in until 10 and still catch the sunrise.
Pull on your Xtratufs and settle in — this is the Alaska adventure you came for.
