A stylish Scottish retreat, perfect for those seeking a coastal break, this contemporary cottage nestles in picture-postcard Portpatrick. Sleeping eight guests, the four-bedroom hideaway offers superb outside space with views over to Ireland on clear days. Known as the jewel in Dumfries and Galloway’s crown, the village’s position is perfect for anyone eager to be close to scenic footpaths, golden beaches and pristine golf courses. Just 150 metres from the renowned Dunskey Golf Club, it is also 8.5 miles from Stranraer Golf Club and 9.5 miles from Green Valley Golf Academy. From charming Portpatrick, which has a sandy beach, shops and eateries, you can charter boats or board a wildlife cruise around the dramatic Rhins of Galloway. For keen walkers, the famous Southern Upland Way, Scotland’s only coast-to-coast footpath, begins in Portpatrick and runs for almost 215 miles across to Cockburnspath on the East Coast.
Pull yourselves away from the astounding views to enter this beautifully finished cottage, which is perfect for group stays. Leave your jackets and shoes in the hall and head into the chic kitchen/diner. This gorgeous, well-equipped space features a breakfast bar, a Smart TV and comfortable window seating offering the perfect, scenic spot to unwind with a book. Open the French doors in here to bring in a sea breeze or take in the views from the balcony. Stroll through to the inviting lounge/diner, where you can fire up the wood burner on chilly days and sink back into the sofa in front of the Smart TV. Gather round the formal dining table for celebratory meals, pulling back the bi-folding doors on warm summer days and taking a bottle of chilled wine from the cooler to pop open in the sunshine. Three of your bedrooms are also at ground-floor level. These include two twin rooms, each with an en-suite shower room and one with French doors leading outside.
