The North Trail is close enough to lace up and go, and Red Sandstone Road climbs straight from the neighborhood into the White River National Forest, opening the way to Piney Lake and its meadow-and-waterfall hikes when the high country is in season. Getting into town is just as easy — the free town bus stop is a 3-minute walk from the condo, with a 7-minute ride to the village, so you can leave the car parked and let someone else handle the snow.
