About this cottage rental
A delightful, glamping retreat for two, this bijou hideaway is perfect for couples. Set in the glorious surroundings of a serene corner of the Lake District, 1.5 miles from Patterdale and 13.5 miles from Ambleside, the charming hideaway is an idyllic choice for couples eager to get away from it all. Lace up your walking boots and step out to explore the undulating landscape. Stroll 2.5 miles to picturesque Lanty’s Tarn. Climb Helvellyn, the third-highest point in England, is 2 miles away. Venture 2.5 miles to Glenridding to board an Ullswater steamer or follow a section of the 20-mile Ullswater Way. Pause to see Aira Force Waterfall, close to the shores of the lake. Head to Ambleside to explore the bustling Lakeland town and discover the beauty of Windermere. While you are here, visit the National Trust’s Wray Castle on the western side of the lake.
Wonder at the amazing views that surround the shepherd’s hut before tearing yourselves away to enter. Climb three steps up to make your way in via the French doors. Find yourselves in an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner/bedroom that has been creatively designed to encompass everything you are likely to need during your stay. Prepare light meals and snacks in the kitchen area with its wooden work surfaces and Belfast sink. Enjoy romantic meals together at the breakfast bar while gazing out over the verdant fells. Settle down to a good film on the Smart TV before enjoying a great night’s sleep in the sumptuous double bed. This gorgeous shepherd’s hut benefits from the luxury of a stylish shower room where you can enjoy a steaming rinse after your long walks.
Savour the opportunities for outdoor living in your private garden area. Light the BBQ and grill lunch and dinner out in the fresh air. Relax in the hot tub and bubble away as you take in the views. Toast in the heat of the fire pit and gaze up at the night skies. There is parking for one car at this retreat.
