About this cottage rental
Renovated for 2023 with love and attention, this gem of a cottage which was occupied for over 200 years by the same family until the early 20th century, has undergone a classy makeover whilst restoring many of its quirky and original period features and provides an ideal getaway for family and friends including the dog! Entering through the patio doors at the rear of the property, you are welcomed by a beautifully stylish, galley-style kitchen, complete with high ceilings, a large skylight and a traditional quarry stone floor. There is ample space in the adjoining hallway to hang up your coat and plonk muddy boots after a long day of exploring. This kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to master up a delicious meal whilst admiring the stained-glass window of the Conwy Valley, hand-painted by the property’s previous owner. Dinner is served to the front of the property, from the table you have fantastic panoramic views across the Conwy countryside. The suntrap conservatory, adjacent to the dining room, is the perfect space for family and friends to gather around the table for a competitive game of Monopoly or to sit quietly with your morning coffee, appreciating the view. As the evening draws in, you’ll find yourself snuggled up in the homely living room underneath the traditional beams, in front of the cosy log burning fire, watching your favourite film on the Smart TV or planning your adventures for the day ahead. On the ground floor there is also the upscale bathroom, perfect for those morning showers to get you ready for the day, or those who enjoy a relaxing bath to unwind in the evening. Upstairs, the period features continue. Notice the beautiful interior stone wall following the stairway all the way through into the main bedroom, which is graced with a comfortable king-size bed and stylish en-suite shower room with WC. The second bedroom compromises of two single beds and handmade timber storage. Both bedrooms let in generous amounts of daylight with their sky lights, and not forgetting the low period windows that pleasantly invite the mesmerising Welsh countryside into the comfort of your own bed.
The enclosed garden provides a safe place for children and dogs to play and an ideal place to spend those warm evenings. The historic obelisk and dramatic limestone cliff of the old quarry makes for a beautiful backdrop to your outdoor experience, whilst in the opposite direction you have the incredible view of the Snowdonia mountains and the Conwy Valley. The large patio area has an outside dining table and BBQ so a real feast can be had. The firepit also allows you to extend the evening warmth and make the most of family time and the views. A lawned area has a hanging egg chair -the perfect space to read a book and enjoy a bit of ‘me’ time away from the rest of the group.
