Just 10 minutes East of the CBD, Richmond is a popular inner-city neighbourhood that has something for everyone - from the shopping strip on Bridge Road, to the trendy Swan Street filled with bars, restaurants, cafes and nightlife. Multicultural Richmond is also known Victoria Street, or “Little Saigon”, with its bustling Asian grocery stores and eateries serving pho and bánh mì. Shoppers head to Bridge Road factory outlets for clothing, or to Church Street for furniture and design stores. Many of Richmond’s 19th-century hotels have been turned into happening bars, including the Corner Hotel, popular for its live indie gigs. There's also a handful of pubs and bars that are a draw for sports fans – unsurprisingly so, with most of the city's major sports stadiums and arenas including Melbourne Cricket Ground and Rod Laver Arena.
