About this house rental
A MIRROR HOUSE ON THE LAKE
Built to disappear into its shoreline. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the water from every angle. Outside, the house reflects the sky, the pines, and the lake itself — a structure designed not to impose on the landscape, but to let it move through.
Inside, the architecture does the talking. Clean lines. Natural light. A plush queen bed positioned to catch the first light off the water. Premium linens, blackout curtains, and bathroom with matte-black fixtures and high-end toiletries. Nothing extra. Nothing missing.
THE SHORELINE (Your Private Acre)
You have exclusive use of a one-acre lakefront lot with direct, unobstructed water access. Walk from the deck to the shore in under a minute. Watch the light shift across the water from morning into evening — your own stretch of Lake Livingston, uninterrupted.
A private jetty with a dock sits at the water's edge — perfect for easing in and out of the kayaks and paddleboards for your exclusive use, stepping into the water, or tying up a boat for the day. Note there is no boat ramp at the property; a free public ramp sits three minutes around the corner for launching and retrieving, we have trailer parking on-site. In house: Fishing Gear Kit.
OUTSIDE THE GLASS
The outdoor system is designed to carry you through the day.
— The Upper Deck opens to the lake with an outdoor dining area and BBQ. Built for long sunset dinners.
— The Wellness Deck sits under a private retreat within the retreat. Two amenities built for the kind of slow ritual that doesn't exist at home.
• The Cold Plunge is kept empty between stays for freshness. Fill it when you'd like to use it and the chiller brings it down to 37–50°F in an hour or two. Two to three minutes in is enough. A partner should always be present.
• The Hot Tub seats four at 102-104°F. Open the cover at sunset and let the steam rise off the lake.
Run them in sequence — plunge and tub, repeat — and you've built the kind of contrast therapy that gives you that spa experience. Here, it's included in the stay.
Adults 18+. A safety guide is posted on the deck. The liability waiver covers all wellness deck use.
— The Lake Deck sits at the water's edge. Adirondack chairs face the lake. A propane fire pit (also serves as a coffee table during the day) gives instant warmth at sundown.
— Below the deck, a wood-burning fire pit on the grass sits closer to the shore for the slower ritual. Seasoned firewood is provided.
As light fades, integrated lighting across the property activates automatically at dusk. The string lights come on. The fire pit catches, and the evening settles into the kind of slow quiet you drove ninety minutes to find.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
Parking & Boats
On-site gravel parking for vehicles and boat/jet ski trailers. No boat ramp on-site; a free public ramp sits three minutes away.
Bird-Safe Architecture
The mirror facade carries specialized UV-patterning — invisible to the human eye, but prevents bird strikes. The house is built to coexist with its ecosystem, not disrupt it.
Privacy & Lighting
Mirror glass provides full daytime privacy from outside. At night, when interior lights are on, the effect reverses — blackout curtains are provided for complete evening privacy.
Lakeside Ecology
This is a true shoreline property, tucked into the pines on the water — which means you'll share the space with the local wildlife, and the occasional spider, gnat, or insect is part of the natural setting, especially in warmer months. We treat the property professionally and regularly, and we keep a shelf of complimentary repellents and sprays inside for your comfort. It's all part of staying somewhere genuinely in nature.
Septic System
A sensitive lakefront septic system protects the lake's water quality. Please flush only toilet paper.
Lighting Control
Outdoor lighting activates automatically at dusk for four hours. Full manual override is available if you want to extend the evening or turn everything off for the stars.
Liability
All guests must complete a brief liability waiver before arrival. The waiver covers use of the property, watercraft, and the wellness deck. Link sent in the pre-arrival message.

If you've read this far, you already know the story. Mention "Heron" in your booking request — it's the bird that rides the morning thermals off the shoreline, and it tells us you read the whole thing. Studies show guests who know what to expect have better stays. We agree.
