About this cottage rental

Located at the end of a row of cottages, this charming property enjoys a tranquil setting just 2 miles south of the historic market town of Appleby in Westmorland. Appleby offers a welcoming mix of traditional pubs, cosy tearooms, independent shops and restaurants, as well as being a popular stop on the iconic Settle–Carlisle Railway. Many of the country’s heritage steam trains still pass over the impressive Ribblehead Viaduct and through nearby Appleby Station, adding a touch of nostalgia to any visit. With the Dales High Way (3.5 miles), the cottage is perfectly placed for walkers and hikers along with plenty of cycle routes. Golfers are well catered for with Appleby golf course less than a mile from the property. The Pennine Way (6 miles), the rolling Eden Valley and countless scenic trails are all within 10 miles, offering endless opportunities to explore the surrounding countryside. Ullswater (19 miles) and the magnificent Lake District are just a short drive to the west, while the Yorkshire Dales , Northumberland and even the Scottish Borders are all within easy reach.

Step into the welcoming entrance hall of this charming retreat and move through to the sleek and spacious kitchen. Exposed beams, a stylish breakfast bar and a large picture window create a bright, contemporary heart to the home. Exploring further, you’ll find a handy utility room and downstairs WC. The cosy lounge offers comfortable sofas, a Smart TV and a wood burner-effect electric fire – perfect for relaxed evenings in, while a separate formal dining room provides an elegant setting for family meals or special occasions. Upstairs, the master king-size bedroom enjoys a Juliet balcony with stunning views across the garden, along with a luxurious en suite bathroom featuring a walk in shower and a bath. Please note that the master bedroom is accessed through the second king-size bedroom, which also benefits from lovely garden views. A twin bedroom and an additional shower room complete the first floor layout, making the cottage ideal for families or groups.

Outside, a spacious garden stretches out with a large lawn and outdoor furniture for al fresco dining or peaceful morning coffees. The garden includes a millrace, steep bank and river, so children must be supervised at all times. The property has four bikes avaiable for guest to use. Private parking is available for up to four cars.
