An impressive Dorset cottage, this gorgeous retreat marries space, style and original character. Tucked away in the verdant countryside at Chebbard, 3 miles from Milborne St Andrew, it sleeps eight guests across four bedrooms, making it a great option for an extended family. Return to its comfort after picturesque walks. Discover local beauty spots, such as Bulbarrow Hill, 6 miles away, with its astounding views. Head off to see the renowned Cerne Abbas Giant, carved in chalk into a green hillside, 8 miles away. Plan a day out further afield to Kingston Lacey to visit the National Trust’s elegant Italianate country mansion and wander its exquisite formal gardens and rolling parkland. Make your way down to the magnificent Isle of Purbeck, with its scenic landscapes and fabulous walks. See the striking, limestone arch of Durdle Door, 16.5 miles away, and picturesque Lulworth Cove, 17.5 miles away, while you are here.
Open the door to this inviting cottage to find a warm welcome. Stroll into the lounge to light the wood burner and discuss the excitement of the day. Choose to settle in the family room instead, where you can light a second wood burner, then watch the Smart TV or select a board game from the cupboard. The kitchen/diner, which spans the back of the house and opens onto the garden, is a bright space for cooking and sitting down to eat together. Find everything you need within this well-equipped space to help you cater for your party. Also downstairs, are a handy porch, a utility room and a ground-floor bathroom. When everyone is ready to turn in for the night, the lovely bedrooms can be found up on the first floor of the cottage. These include two king-size bedrooms, plus a super-king-size bedroom with zip-and-link beds that can be made into a twin on request, and a twin bedroom. The twin also has zip-and-link beds and can be set up as a super-king-size if discussed in advance. Two family shower rooms are also on this level for your convenience.
The glorious garden here really is a highlight of the cottage. Play games with any children and dogs in your group on the large lawn, keeping an eye on them as it is not enclosed. Dine out in the summer sunshine on the stone patio, cooking on the charcoal BBQ and taking in the views. There is private, off-road parking for four cars.
