About this cottage rental
Perfectly located for exploring some of Dorset’s most iconic sights, this charming holiday home is ideal for couples and small families planning countryside adventures and days on the coast together. Before exploring the wider region, take some time to walk through the host village of Church Knowle, which features a 13th-century church and a village pub. Just 2 miles away, Corfe Castle offers fascinating ruins and plenty of countryside vistas. The market town of Wareham (5.5 miles) features riverside walks and a tempting range of cafes and boutiques. From country to coast, the dramatic Dorset shoreline is close by, starting with the seaside trails and viewpoints of Kimmeridge Bay (3.5 miles). Explore the wider Jurassic Coast, which is world-famous for its chalky cliffs and fossil-hunting opportunities; popular spots include Old Harry Rocks, Swanage, Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door (all within 13 miles).
Enter through the rear patio doors into the kitchen, where you'll find a rack to kick off your sandy walking shoes. The open-plan kitchen/diner offers a well-appointed and homely space featuring everything needed for cooking up holiday feasts. Enjoy each meal at the wooden dining table in here or dine alfresco out on the patio. Head into the welcoming lounge, where earthy textures and soft furnishings centre around a Smart TV and a crackling wood burner – perfect for cosy movie nights together. At the end of each busy day away, head upstairs and retire to a choice of two double bedrooms, both of which are spacious and stylish. Completing the property is a refreshing family bathroom with a shower over the bath.
Spill outside when the sun shines and make full use of your scenic patio garden. Take in the hillside views and enjoy games on the lawn before gathering at the furnished patio for evening tipples and al fresco meals. There's on-street parking on the road directly in front of the property, and on the other side of the road, however, please do not park in front of the other Higher Barracks houses as these are in regular use by the neighbors. Alternatively, you can also park in the lane to the pub car park, on the right hand-side and at least 5 metres away from the entrance, though please note that you will need to pop into the pub for a permit.
