About this cottage rental
On a tucked-away country lane in Sibton, this superb rural retreat will suit couples wishing for a quiet Suffolk break in stylish surroundings. Potter over to nearby Peasenhall (2 miles) or Yoxford (2.5 miles) for a mooch around the antique shops, or enjoy a hearty pub lunch. When the coast calls, drive over to Dunwich (8 miles) for a walk on the marvellous shingle beach or follow one of the fascinating heathland trails. Or perhaps spend a day in colourful Southwold (11 miles) both for a wander down the pier or some toe-dipping in the sea. Avid birdwatchers are well catered for, with both RSPB Minsmere and Benacre National Nature Reserve within 14 miles, as are the historians with Framlington Castle and Snape Maltings within 10 miles. When you're ready to wind down, go back to the property and admire the beautiful countryside and garden with drink in hand.
Step through the stable-style door – ideal for leaving half-open on warm days – into the lovely, beamed dining parlour with its traditional Suffolk red-brick floor, antique dining table and cast iron fire. Summer or winter, it's the perfect place to gather for a meal. The compact, well-equipped kitchen overlooks a large natural pond and is fitted with an integrated oven, slimline dishwasher and Nespresso machine. From the parlour, continue into the cosy sitting room where you can watch Netflix on the Smart TV, or head into the conservatory for a quiet drink. The super-king bed is on the ground floor together with a lavish en-suite shower room and WC. A narrow cottage staircase leads to an eaved study with a single daybed, a stylish bathroom with WC, and a desk for catching up with emails.
