A stay at this holiday home in the heart of the Lake District National Park offers friends and family the perfect base for adventure, history and unforgettable days out surrounded by spectacular scenery. Outdoor enthusiasts can embrace the fells with hikes up Wansfell Pike, or take on more challenging climbs such as Scafell or The Old Man of Coniston. Discover Rydal Cave (6 miles) – a fascinating man-made cavern with stepping stones across its waters. Visit Wordsworth Grasmere (7.5 miles) or Rydal Mount & Gardens (5.5 miles), both former homes of William Wordsworth, and soak up the inspiration behind some of his most famous poetry. Alternatively, step into the world of Beatrix Potter at Hill Top or explore The World of Beatrix Potter (4.5 miles) in Bowness. For family-friendly fun, swing through the trees at Treetop Lake District (3 miles), or enjoy a memorable experience meeting llamas and alpacas at Alpacaly Ever After (30 miles).

On arrival, you're greeted by a practical utility room – just the place for muddy boots and outdoor gear after a day exploring. Beyond, the country kitchen is well equipped with modern appliances and all the utensils you'll need, with a welcoming dining area ready for leisurely breakfasts and hearty suppers. A steep wooden staircase leads to the first floor, where a lounge awaits. Here, a wood burner and Smart TV create a warm, inviting setting for evenings in after time spent on the lake. A few steps down from the sitting room brings you to a generous super-king bedroom with an adjoining dressing room. Nearby, a charming single bedroom provides additional flexibility. Across the way, the contemporary bathroom includes a spacious P-shaped bath with an overhead shower. From the sitting room, a small set of steps leads up to the third bedroom, tucked beneath sloping ceilings and furnished with a comfortable double bed. N.B. Limited head height in this room and a need to 'bend or bump at bedroom door.
