This is a great spot for walkers and hikers who don't want to drive far, with lakeside strolls including Friar's Crag (0.6 miles). If you fancy more of a climb, head to Latrigg Fell (1.5 miles) or Blencathra (7 miles), or venture to the atmospheric stone circle at Castlerigg (1.5 miles) for far-reaching views over the surrounding fells.
Inside, this two-storey cottage combines traditional character with a chic, hotel-like finish to create a space that feels both welcoming and indulgent. Step straight into an open-plan living area with original flagstone floors and exposed beams. Here, you can get cooking with delicious local produce in the smart, contemporary kitchen, then savour a romantic meal at the table for two.
