About this cottage rental
Set in the peaceful Lincolnshire village of Hundleby, this characterful home makes a fantastic base for friends and family hoping to explore coast, countryside and historic attractions. Start with a visit to Bolingbroke Castle (3 miles), the atmospheric ruins of a medieval fortress steeped in English history. Another must-see is Tattershall Castle (14 miles), a striking red-brick tower offering far-reaching views. Wolds Wildlife Park (10 miles) is home to a variety of animals from around the world, while Tattershall Farm Park (15.5 miles) offers plenty of hands-on fun for younger visitors. Skegness Beach (14 miles) is ideal for a traditional seaside day. Nature enthusiasts will also enjoy exploring Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve and its visitor centre (16.5 miles) or taking in coastal panoramas from the North Sea Observatory (15 miles). Visit the village of Woodhall Spa (16 miles) or spend the day exploring the market town of Louth (16 miles).
At the heart of the home is an expansive kitchen and dining area, where a dual-fuel Smeg range, two microwaves, a coffee machine, an American-style fridge/freezer, and a separate pantry make catering for a crowd easy. The adjoining dining area dressed with floral-covered seating and soft pink tones, creates a cheerful setting for breakfasts and casual suppers. Beyond the kitchen, a more formal dining room centres around a long table for celebratory meals and shared evenings together. This leads into a generous living room with comfortable seating, a Smart TV and a wood burner, while sliding bi-fold doors open directly onto the garden for easy indoor-outdoor living. Tucked just behind the main living area is a practical utility room, alongside a ground-floor shower room with a walk-in shower. The house also includes a cosy winter lounge with another fire, a large Smart TV and a double sofa bed, which can connect through to the neighbouring games room with a pool table. A discreet desk area creates a tucked-away workspace for anyone needing to log on during their stay, while a reading snug near the games room adds yet another quiet corner to retreat to. Outside, the garden unfolds through a series of flower-filled seating areas connected by winding paths. There are patio tables for outdoor dining, lounge furniture for afternoon drinks, a water feature and a BBQ area for summer feasts. At the far end of the garden, children will find a dedicated play area with swings, a climbing frame, a wooden aeroplane, and a picnic bench. Private parking is available for up to eight cars.
