About this cottage rental
With breathtaking views across Windermere, this fabulous property makes a wonderful getaway for up to eight guests, with direct access onto the lake – perfect for swimming, paddleboarding and canoeing along one of the most famous parts of the Lake District. This superb hideaway sits at the northern end of Windermere, just 200 metres from the Waterhead Pier, where you can join a steamboat to travel the length of the lake, calling in at Brockhole, Bowness and Lakeside. The lively town of Ambleside is just a mile away, with a wealth of great places to eat and drink as well as attractions including The Bridge House, Ambleside Roman Fort, and Stock Ghyll Force. Other local places of interest include Stagshaw Gardens, Townend, Holehird Gardens, and Rydal Mount and Gardens (all within 3 miles). Both Rydal Water and Grasmere are within 4.5 miles to the north.
The modest front entrance of this superb property features plenty of space for leaving outdoor gear, with a generous bathroom to one side. Stepping through, the spacious and light-filled open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner provides a fabulous space for you all to unwind in. The elegantly arranged kitchen has ample equipment and a sleek central island, alongside a charming dining table perfect for a family celebration. At the far end of the room, the beautiful lounge area has a Smart TV, snug seating, and a telescope for observing the night sky. The lounge also features huge floor-to-ceiling windows which lead out onto a spacious balcony with plenty of seating and tranquil views over Windermere. Heading downstairs from the main living space, you will find a stylish shower room and the first bedroom: a beautiful king-size room with patio doors opening out onto the jetty area. From the main living area, a staircase takes you up to the first floor, which has three further bedrooms: a charming king-size room, a lovely twin ideal for children, and an opulent en-suite super-king-size room with a vast end-wall made of glass offering a majestic waterside view. There is also an additional double room on the ground floor at lake level. This floor also features a useful shower room.
Outside, as well as the relaxing balcony area, you will find storage space for two paddleboards and a private decked area leading to the jetty. There's also a useful covered outdoor shower. Off-street parking is available for one car, with another parking permit for nearby car parks provided
