Amble 0.5 miles down to beautiful Derwentwater to gaze out across the lake, watch for wildlife or board a cruise to immerse yourself further in the spectacular scenery. Pull on your hiking boots and stride off on the 10-mile circular walk around the lake, passing through ancient woodlands as you go. Find more exhilarating hikes in the fells that overlook Derwentwater. Climb Skiddaw from Keswick to see as far afield as Bassenthwaite Lake, the Solway Firth, Scotland’s Galloway Hills and even the Isle of Man on clear days.
