Parents can turn in early, friends can keep different schedules, and everyone still meets up easily for a swim at Kamaole Beach Park II across the street. This Kihei Akahi condo has two bedrooms, two baths, three beds, and sleeping space for four, plus air conditioning, a full kitchen, private lanai, and washer and dryer. Two pools, tennis courts, and barbecue areas make the complex useful on the days you do not want to go far. Kamaole I is nearby for another stretch of sand, and South Kihei Road has restaurants and shops close by. A thoughtful layout for a small family or two couples who want both beach access and a little breathing room.

South Kihei is at its easiest around Kamaole Beach Park II, directly across the road from Kihei Akahi. Walk north about a half mile to Kamaole I, or stay close for swimming and an unhurried sunset. Cafe O'Lei, Moose McGillycuddy's, Coconut's Fish Cafe, and the Kinaole Grill Food Truck keep casual meals within reach. Two pools, tennis courts, and barbecue areas add a low-key alternative to another beach afternoon.
Getting Around:
Kahului Airport is about 20 to 30 minutes away, an easy drive down Maui's sunny south shore. A rental car is recommended to make the most of Kihei's many beaches, shops, and restaurants spread along the coast. Some stretches near South Kihei Road are walkable to dining and shopping, while beaches are often just minutes away. Parking is typically available on site, in lots, or along nearby streets.
