The Neighborhood:
Kalama Beach Park is across the street, giving you an ocean path for sunset, open space for a picnic, and courts for tennis or volleyball. Cove Beach Park is nearby for beginner surf lessons, paddleboarding, and kayak rentals. Kalama Village and the surrounding South Kihei Road bring casual dining, shops, coffee, and rental options within easy reach. For snorkeling and a longer beach day, the Kamaole Beach Parks are close to the south. It is a lively, walkable stretch of Kihei that works well when everyone wants a different version of the same beach day.
Getting Around:
Kahului Airport is about 20 to 30 minutes away, an easy drive down Maui's sunny south shore. A rental car is recommended to make the most of Kihei's many beaches, shops, and restaurants spread along the coast. Some stretches near South Kihei Road are walkable to dining and shopping, while beaches are often just minutes away. Parking is typically available on site, in lots, or along nearby streets.
