About this apartment rental

Summary:

Wake up to a light-filled North Shore home, then spend the day choosing between Hanalei Bay, Anini Beach, or a simple pool afternoon close by. This renovated Mauna Kai condo in Princeville has three bedrooms, two baths, and room for up to seven guests, with a king bed, two upgraded queens, and a queen sofa bed. Floor-to-ceiling windows and vaulted ceilings bring in Kauai’s soft light, while a distant peek of the ocean adds a quiet reminder of where you are. The modern kitchen, dining area, and breakfast bar make family meals easy, and the on-site pool gives everyone a nearby reset. Princeville Center is close for coffee and groceries, while Hanalei’s pier, beach, and town are a short drive away. This is a bright, comfortable fit for a family or group that wants a true North Shore base with room to gather.

The Space:

The recently renovated interior pairs an open plan with vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows, giving this three-bedroom, two-bath condo a light, airy feel. It sleeps seven with a king in the main bedroom, two upgraded queen beds, and a queen sofa bed. The kitchen is modern and well equipped, with a dining area and bar seating for meals together. Look out for the distant ocean peek from inside.

Guest Access:

Guests at Mauna Kai in Princeville have access to a shared communal pool for cooling off between beach days. The grounds include a disabled parking spot, and family friendly touches like children's books and toys make it easy to settle in. A short walk brings you to the beach and Princeville's north shore views.

The Neighborhood:

Mauna Kai is set in Princeville on Kauai’s North Shore, where green fairways, mountain views, and deep tropical color are part of the everyday scene. Princeville Center is close for coffee, groceries, and a casual meal. This is a peaceful, green base for families and friends who want to explore the North Shore at their own pace.

Getting Around:

Lihue Airport is about 40 minutes away via a scenic drive along Kauai's coast. A rental car is highly recommended since the North Shore's beaches, restaurants, and Hanalei's shops are spread out. Communication with the host was very easy and any questions I had got answered promptly. I didn’t realize the property didn’t have a hot tub, just a pool. The kids were happy with the pool and the water was warm enough for them. We actually spent so much time at the nearby beaches that we didn’t spend as much time in the pool area as we thought we would so it all worked out. The A/C units and fans throughout the condo made it easy to keep the rooms at a comfortable temperature (we were there at the end of May). The kitchen is well stocked with nice pots and pans and we were able to do a lot of our own cooking to save money from eating out. The food town market is minutes away which made it easy to pick up anything we needed. Lots of walking trails around the area. We had a wonderful stay in the Princeville area and we would stay here again.

Great property. Only issue was we had a problem this morning with electrical on 1st floor. I think it was a breaker issue. Suggestion would be to put something in the booklet advising how to fix.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this unit. It was well maintained. The kitchen had everything we needed as far as pots, pans, serving ware and utensils. The refrigerator had an ice maker (bonus)! The bedrooms were very well appointed with comfortable beds, clean linens and clean bathrooms with plenty of towels. There were beach chairs for our beach outings. The kitchen area opened up to the family room and breakfast nook so that when we were at home we were together eating and playing games or just chatting in the open family room. That's what we love doing when not exploring the north shore, so thank you for sharing your townhome with our family.

Kaua’i is the most beautiful island I have ever travelled to! I stayed in Mauna Kai 5 with five of my girlfriends and was delighted with the atmosphere, cleanliness and amenities provided to us. The location is perfect with easy access to Hanalei and a beach only five minutes walk away. We were greeted with sweet treats and fruit from the island. The three rooms were very spacious, with accessibility to a pull out couch and a tv with many options to choose from. The kitchen was also great for cooking, which was definitely a money saver compared to going out to eat. I would 10/10 recommend staying at this location and will be back to experience it again!
