About this house rental
Walk straight onto Tonggs Beach, rinse off, and choose which of three private lanais gets sunset tonight. This historic three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath Diamond Head home sleeps eight and gives a family or close group something rare in Honolulu: a beachfront house with character, space, and a direct connection to the water. Listed on the State Register of Historic Places, the Gingerbread Home has been thoughtfully updated with custom furnishings and a gourmet kitchen, while the primary suite takes over the entire top floor. Grill in the oceanfront courtyard, play at nearby beach parks or tennis courts, then stroll toward the Diamond Head end of Waikiki for dinner. Air conditioning, a garage, and an in-home washer and dryer make the logistics easy. It is not a generic Waikiki stay. It is a beautiful, deeply local-feeling Oahu base for travelers who want the beach out front and a memorable home behind them.
The Space:
This three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath historic home sleeps eight, with the primary suite occupying the entire top floor. Custom furnishings and a gourmet kitchen lend a polished but lived-in feel, while three private lanais make room for coffee, reading, and sunset. Air conditioning, a garage, an in-home washer and dryer, and an oceanfront courtyard with a barbecue make group stays easier.
Guest Access:
This Honolulu home offers a private entrance and its own garage parking right on site. Guests are directly on the beach with ocean front and beach view access, and in unit laundry keeps longer stays easy. A lit path to the entrance rounds out a comfortable, self contained retreat.
The Neighborhood:
Tonggs Beach sits at the Diamond Head end of Waikiki, a more residential-feeling pocket of Honolulu where the ocean, beach parks, and outdoor courts are part of the daily scene. Walk the shoreline toward Kapiolani Park, stop for a swim, or head into Waikiki for restaurants, shops, and beach activity. Diamond Head rises nearby for the classic Oahu hike, and the neighborhood's location makes a sunset beach walk feel wonderfully simple. It suits guests who want Waikiki access without staying in the center of its busiest blocks.
Getting Around:
Daniel K. Inouye International Airport is about 20 to 30 minutes away depending on traffic. A rental car is optional here, since Waikiki and much of Honolulu are very walkable, with rideshare and the bus system covering the rest. Beaches, shopping, and dining are often just steps or a short stroll away. Parking is typically available through hotels or paid lots rather than free street parking.
Other Things to Note:
Parking: private garage parking for one vehicle is provided. This unit includes garage parking. This rental does not have central heating. Please note a relative of the homeowner lives in the house that shares the courtyard, and the grill and beachfront courtyard are shared with the adjacent home. No smoking is permitted on the seawall per city and state rule. Please note this neighborhood is a hotspot for foot traffic to watch the surf and sunset.
