Brook Terrace

This is obviously a newly refurbished accommodation. Bed was comfortable, linen good quality, and the quilt was appropriate weight for the weather smart decor. Easy to get parked outside. Quiet location in a residential street although i feel sorry for the poor neighbours effectively living next door to an HMO. Easy keybox access. Good proximity to croft circuit. The shower worked well. Absolutely great to have use of a fridge. Communal kitchen immaculate and very well equipped, just as in the photos. Everything spot on, on the face of it.

No TV!! To be fair, it's not offered in the description, but it almost goes without saying you would expect a TV. We travel a lot and have NEVER had a room without one. They obviously plan to provide one as wall sockets installed. Large tv in seating area at the end of the kitchen but still in the box! Blinds are very basic white verticals, they are NOT blackout blinds, and there's no curtains. Bathroom has a stuck on shelf which had fallen off prior to our arrival and just been stood on the edge of the sink. Scarmy hand wash bottle on the skirting board as no shelf. Hand basin is the top of the cistern, so you are leaning over the loo to wash /shave, etc. Not enough hangers. There are no ' views', terrace or garden just a neglected back yard with some basic garden furniture. This was the ground floor room. It seemed odd the bed was pushed towards the window wall meaning you had no bedside cabinet and had to climb in and out the bottom of the bed despite there being ample room to centre the bed with access all round. Reason soon became obvious as there is rising damp under the window, and there were moisture collecting devices on the floor there. They have put nice furniture in but no coasters to protect it. However, the worst issue by far was the fact there was NO mattress protector. I forgot to check for pillow protectors. I would not like to think what the mattress and pillows will be like in 6 months time. Carboard edges had not been removed from the fabric headboard. They have tried hard and achieved pretty but missing some of the basics. Unlikely to stay again unfortunately.
