About this apartment rental
The space
Tucked away on a quiet acre in the Azalea Hill area of McKinleyville, this modern studio offers a comfortable place to unwind between adventures along the Redwood Coast. Conveniently located between Trinidad, Arcata, and Eureka — and just 10 minutes from Cal Poly Humboldt — it’s an ideal home base for exploring the beaches, forests, rivers, and small towns that make Humboldt County so unique.
Spend your days hiking through Redwood National and State Parks, exploring Old Town Eureka, wandering the Arcata Plaza, or walking beneath the redwoods in the Arcata Community Forest. Visit nearby beaches, take scenic drives through the towering redwoods, or explore the rivers and mountain communities throughout the region. The Mad River, Smith River, Van Duzen River, Trinity River, Klamath River, and Eel River are all within reach for swimming, fishing, kayaking, rafting, and day trips into the mountains. Southern Humboldt, the Avenue of the Giants, and Willow Creek — known as the gateway to the Trinity Alps and Bigfoot country — all make memorable day trips from the coast.
Humboldt County is also known for world-class fishing opportunities, with nearby charters offering Pacific Ocean and river fishing for halibut, rock cod, lingcod, salmon, and more.
Inside, the studio is designed for comfort, simplicity, and rest. The California King Tempur-Pedic bed offers a deeply relaxing night’s sleep, while the warm, calming interior creates an easy place to settle into after a full day of exploring.
The kitchenette includes a small full-size refrigerator, microwave, drinking water, dishes, glassware, and essentials for simple meals and longer stays. A thoughtfully stocked coffee bar offers a variety of Keurig flavors, creamers, sweeteners, tea, and a few extra touches to help make mornings slow and comfortable.
The space is ideal for one or two guests and can accommodate up to four. A futon converts into an additional sleeping space, with extra bedding provided in the closet.
Outside, enjoy the gardens, private seating area, and your own hot tub under the stars. Additional amenities include spa towels, a cooler for beach and river days, and thoughtful details throughout the studio to help you feel at home during your stay.
You’ll also be close to local restaurants, breweries, music festivals, farmers markets, wine tasting, and nightlife. Nearby favorites include Moonstone Grill, Larrupin’ Café, Seascape Restaurant, Umami Sushi, Six Rivers Brewery, and Lost Coast Brewery, along with several excellent Mexican restaurants just minutes away in McKinleyville. Blue Lake Casino is just a short drive away for dining, live entertainment, concerts, and nightlife, and Cher-Ae Heights Casino in Trinidad offers ocean views, dining, and additional entertainment along the coast.
This is a hosted property, and I live on-site in a separate space. Your privacy is fully respected, but I’m available if anything is needed during your stay.
Best suited for guests who appreciate a quiet, comfortable, and respectful environment.
