Ideally located
Hondarribia lays in the border with France. It's an ideal place to spend some days enjoying the basque cuisine, going to the beach, hiking in the mountains and enjoying the history of a town that has seen (and survived) many sieges and battles.

Hondarribia is also a perfect place from which to make day-trips to San Sebastian, Biarritz, Sant Jean de Luz, Bilbao and Pamplona among others (all these places are within an 1,5 hours drive).

The apartment is located in the heart of the old town of Hondarribia, surrounded by medieval walls and 1 minute walk from the castle that overviews the whole bay and France. The picturesque neighbourhood of 'la marina' (fisherman's borough) where most of bars and restaurants (ask us for tips!)are is 10 minute walk.
Completely renovated
Everything in the flat is refurbished: floors, walls, kitchen, bathroom, patio. Check the pictures!
Decoration
Despite the renovation and some new furniture we have tried to keep the essence of the flat by renewing some pieces like couches and the music cabinet.
Distribution
The house faces south, which gives a great light to the front chambers (living room and master bedroom). The two other bedrooms have a window to the common patio, being perfectly cool during the summer. The kitchen and the bathroom look to a private patio, which can be a perfect place for breakfast or even a romantic dinner.

A 3 bedroom apartment right next to a church in a sleepy little village town. Very quiet (except for the church bells, which I used as an indicator to catch the bus in the morning).
Mikel was very helpful during checkin and provided a map of the area. To get to Donostia I took a bus that arrived at the exact time each day. It takes roughly a half hour to get there. Drop off point is right behind hotel Maria Christina.
The walk to the bus stop is 10 minutes at most. But going through the rock tunnel makes it worth it. Especially at night when it is all lit up.
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Highly recommend this for anyone who wants to experience a non touristy stay.

We stayed here 5 days and enjoyed every minute. Even those two rainy days. Wi-Fi worked fine so we were able to watch netflix :)
Very nice bars and restaurants in the neighbourhood. Not too far from the beach either.
We might return in the future!

The location & hospitality of Mikel was the best we have had yet. He picked us up from the train station and provided support throughout our vacation. The location is the loveliest part of town, historic and centrally located. Wonderful cafe just behind for breakfast and the views are spectacular. Highly recommend!
