House with character

"We have just returned from a lovely week at this villa, a good base for exploring this part of Puglia - the Vall d'Itria region. The villa is actually situated in the country a few miles from Cisternino and Martina Franca, surrounded by rolling hills and farming country. It is a very attractive, modernized trulli, part of a pair of cottages, with all you could want for two people on a short stay holiday. it was clean and well equipped, much like moving into a functioning home. The kitchen allowed us to cook and sample some of the delights of the local foods. We really enjoyed the contact with the owners, the Zizzi family, who had clearly thought through the basics of what a tired guest needs on arrival late at night. They continued to be very hospitable and full of advice about local visits or in solving any problems. We would recommend it to anyone who wants to explore this part of Puglia and understand more of the local culture. It was a great introduction to puglian hospitality."
