Samsara

We really liked our stay at Samsara in Francavilla al Mare (Abruzzo region, near Pescara). The villa has a pool with sun loungers, umbrellas, towels, and barrel-shaped tables with bar stools, all with an amazing view of the sea. You can also walk for about 15–20 minutes to the beach, so it was an ideal walk for us. On the way to the beach, there is a great little cheese shop called "Sapori" – we highly recommend it to other tourists. The owners took great care of us — for breakfast we had a sweet version (croissants with fruit filling, pancakes, coffee, and juices) and a savory version (eggs, prosciutto, cheese, and sweet, juicy fruit). Highly recommended.

A beautiful and very quiet location with outstanding views, particularly from the rooms with a pool view. The rooms are comfortable, very spacious and attractive, and spotlessly clean. Beds slightly firm, but I prefer that. Breakfast was delicious and it was so lovely to eat on the relaxed terrace. The hosts were extremely kind. I only wish we could have stayed longer.

For anyone with reasonable fitness, it is an easy and pleasant walk (about twenty minutes) down some steps into the centre of Francavilla and the beach. However, it is quite steep and therefore not really suitable for older people or those who have difficulty with steps, so I recommend hiring a car.

Il posto è davvero bellissimo, a Francavilla alta, con una vista meravigliosa dalla piscina sull'Adriatico e su tutta la costa da Pescara fino a Ortona. La padrona di casa è la gentilissima signora Inna, che fa davvero di tutto perché i suoi ospiti si sentano a proprio agio, come a casa propria. Noi avevamo una delle due camere con accesso diretto alla piscina, una camera provvista di tutto, compreso un ampio stendibiancheria. Camera moderna e ben arredata, con aria condizionata, comodo letto matrimoniale. Pescara è raggiungibile (meglio comunque avvalersi del navigatore) in 15-20 minuti al massimo, e anche l'interno di questa parte di Abruzzo è a distanza veramente breve. Noi per esempio dalla struttura abbiamo fatto le giote a San Clemente a Casauria, a Chieti, a Vasto, a San Giovanni in Venere, a Guardiagrele e alla magica Roccascalegna: davvero si tratta di una regione che è tutta una magnifica scoperta. Un altro punto a favore della struttura è la colazione, ricca e sempre coi cornetti caldi; inoltre c'è un ampio frigorifero utilizzabile da tutti gli ospiti dal quale si può attingere acqua naturale o gassata, yogurt e perfino, nei giorni in cui eravamo là, uno strepitoso doclissimo cocomero che con quel caldo era un toccasana. Samsara è davvero un gioiellino e lo raccomandiamo con tanta simpatia a chi vorrà trascorrere un soggiorno in quella zona.

Non vengono rifatti i letti, però il bagno viene quotidianamente pulito, E questo è l'importante.
