Ballyhist Cottage, superb 2 bedroom Farm Cottage

Beautiful peaceful location, the cottage was spotless and very well equipped with lovely traditional touches. The hostess kindly checked in with us a few times just to make sure we were ok (we were, completely) and even left a few items in case we were starving on arrival.🙂

It's a lovely cottage an it's located within a stone's throw of the Slieve Bloom mountains. The host was brilliant, couldn't say enough positive things about her. The cottage has everything you might need. WiFi was excellent, heating was brilliant. We found Emo Park nearby, what a stunning place, full of wonderful sights and walks.

I don't have anything negative to say, but rather a word of advice for others interested in renting the cottage. It is a renovated cottage and it is deep in the countryside, so you'll need a car to get to shops etc. This has absolutely nothing to do with the cottage, but many of the mountain trails are marked in terms of difficulty. There are no easy walks. If you see a walk marked "easy" then it's easy of your 18 years old and an Olympian. The walks are great, but be prepared for a bit of a slog in places.
