The Big Muddy Inn

First of all, it is a beautiful historical home, with a wonderful large central courtyard and a front veranda, with beautifully and tastefully decorated room (oh, and my bed was the stuff of dreams). But at the same time the whole house is strewn with rock and pop memorabilia, books, postrs etc, giving it a modern and artsy feel. Perhaps more imprtantly, from the first moment I felt more like a house than a hotel guest, and that is of course down to the warm welcome from Tracy and the other staff. You just feel at home from the get-go. At the same time, it is a place where on certain evenings people congragate to socialize and to listen to wonderful bluesy music performed by the very talented and accomplished Ami and her small band, while being treated to whatever drink you desire. I was lucky enough to have two such evenings during my three-day stay. And I had a myriad of most interesting and enjoyable conversations. I could go on, but the most sincere judgment is surely that even though I was only scheduled to stay for two nights, I ended up staying for three. I just loved the place, and Natchez more generally.

Try as I might, I cannot think of anything I did not like.

Only had coffee, was really good. Booked the hotel as stop over on our way to New Orleans, but what a pleasant surprise Natchez was, wish we could stay another night.

Perfect stay.
